Split CSV File
Divide CSV into smaller files by record count. Each part keeps the headers and original row order, including quoted and multiline values. Your data stays in your browser.
How to split a CSV file
Paste or open CSV, enter a positive whole number in Rows per file, then select Split file. Review the original record count and part sizes, then download each part individually. For example, 10 records split by 3 become 3 + 3 + 3 + 1 records.
Input limits
Use UTF-8 CSV up to 5 MB per input with unique, non-empty headers and consistent field counts. Blank rows are skipped. Up to 100 parts can be created at once; increase Rows per file if needed. Output uses commas and formula-safe CSV serialization.

- Do headers and multiline cells count toward Rows per file?
- The count covers data records, not physical text lines or the header. Every part repeats the same headers. Commas, quotes and line breaks inside a quoted cell stay in one record, so a multiline cell is never split between files.
- What if I need more than 100 parts or have only headers?
- The tool stops before creating more than 100 parts and suggests a larger Rows per file value. A header-only input creates one header-only part with zero data records. Rows per file must be a positive whole number within the JavaScript safe integer range.
- How are my data and downloads handled?
- Parsing and splitting happen locally in browser memory, with no uploads or ZIP archive. Download each UTF-8 CSV separately as part-001.csv, part-002.csv and so on. Existing validation trims headers and skips blank rows; safe export adds an apostrophe to formula-like strings. Editing input or Rows per file removes the previous parts and disables their downloads.
